I met Edwin in 1996 when I was an ocean lifeguard in Myrtle Beach. When I moved back to NC we wrote letters discussing philosophy, the meaning of life and everything in between over the years. He would send my children books and inscribe them with meaningful remarks. He was a good friend, thoughtful and quick with positive words. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He wrote a lot about his brother and nephews. He also liked to share the items and things he bought in restoring Brogdon Manor and Depot. I will miss him and our correspondence.

I had the privilege of teaching with Dr. Brogdon at Harlem High School from 1988-1992. What a fine southern gentleman who shared his talents, abilities, and worldly goods with his students, colleagues, and friends! He was eager to help all who needed him in any way possible. What a joy it was to know him, I am so thankful he was a part of our faculty! Till we meet again! Mary Campbell
