Obituary of David Marion Smith

David Marion Smith, 82, widower of Shirley May Smith, died Friday, April 24, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Lawrenceville, IL, he was a son of the late Russell M. Smith and Julia Skelton Smith. Mr. Smith was a member and deacon at Green Acres Assembly of God Church. He was U. S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and was a veteran of Korea. He was a retired SC Dept. of Mental Health Administrator at Tucker Center. Surviving are a daughter, Shirl A. Borden of Sumter; two brothers, Kenny Smith of MA and Roger Smith of IN; two grandchildren, Eric Borden and Zack Borden. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Mark Smith and a sister, Marilyn Madanat. Private graveside services will be held at Green Acres Cemetery.
