Obituary of Sudie Mae Pfeifer
Please share a memory of Sudie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sudie Mae Pfeifer, 86, of Sumter, went to be with our Lord at Morningside of Sumter on July 4, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband John Francis Pfeifer and is survived by 7 children, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and 3 siblings. A private ceremony will be held due to COVID-19. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
Mom started annual family gatherings at Lake Wateree that lasted 39 years, especially the 4th of July holiday. She was an outstanding Southern cook, and those closest to her always said her cooking was better than Mama Dips’ and Paul Deen’s. She also loved scary movies, nature, art, and animals. Her philosophies of life were to play hard while you’re young because you’ll have to work the rest of your life; to buy things that make you happy while you’re young enough to enjoy them; and to turn your dreams into reality by making the most of every opportunity.
A very special thanks to the staff of Morningside of Sumter for their unwavering dedication to excellent care and all the love, attention, and support they showed mom. Thanks also to Amedisys for their excellent hospice care.
