Ann Fraser Shoelen, 102, widow of John Lee Shoelen, passed away at home in Greenville SC on Sunday, September 27, 2020, following a brief illness.
She was born January 3,1918, in Oswego, SC to Scott Dubose Fraser and Gertrude Dick Fraser.
Ann graduated from Winthrop University and had an interesting and varied career life. She had been a social worker, an occupational therapist, a teacher, and retired as the Director of Eastern New Mexico Rehabilitative services in Tucumcari New Mexico, where she and John lived for 25 years before retiring and moving to Greenville SC in 1982. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tucumcari, NM and John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC.
Ann was well known throughout her life for her loving kindness and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Polly Shoelen (Jack Walley) and Cynthia Shoelen and beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Mac Fraser and Lawrence Fraser.
Graveside services will be held at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Bradford Springs, SC on Wednesday, Sept. 30th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 29th from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M.
