Obituary of Margarete Iseman

Margarete Sholar Troutman Iseman, 94, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at NHC Healthcare Sumter. Born in Sturgis, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Ira Thomas and Laura Weller Sholar. Mrs. Iseman was twice married, first to the late Harold Aubrey Troutman and later to the late Harold S. Iseman, Sr. Mrs. Iseman was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing, and traveling. She was a Methodist. Surviving are two daughters, Laura Troutman Brogdon (Dr. Fred E. Brogdon, Jr.) and Katherine Troutman Cheek of Sumter; four grandchildren, Margarete Brogdon Hill (Cooper) of Sumter, Andrew Creighton Cheek (Jessica) of Manning, Rev. Frederick Earle Brogdon, III of Decatur, AL and McKenzie Cheek Grant (Shawn) of Sumter; seven great-grandchildren, Cooper, Jr., Brogdon, Laekyn, Aubrey, Autumn, Creighton, and Wyatt; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas Daniel Sholar (Ernestine) of Princeton, KY; and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roger Cheek. Private graveside services were held at 2 PM Monday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Nick Cheek officiating.
