Anne Watson Clark, 93, widow of Duane Norman Clark, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Covenant Place. Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Dr. W. Burke Watson and Kate Brogdon Watson. After graduating from Winthrop College, she began her teaching career in Columbia, SC. She and her husband later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she taught for many years. Upon retirement, they relocated in Boone, North Carolina, where she was a member of Brookside Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed all types of handwork, gardening, cooking, and traveling with her husband. She is survived by her niece, Kathy McElveen (Joe) and nephews, Burke Watson (Robin), Mike Watson, and Kell Watson (Amber); a brother in law, Don Clark (Patty); numerous great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, W. Burke Watson, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne C Watson. Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Sumter Cemetery, with Dr Lawrence C. Young officiating.
