Thank you Connie for being such a good friend to my Mother, Pat, and for always being so welcoming and caring to me. I know that she and many others have welcomed you with great love on the other side. Condolences and love to the family.

It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Connie's stroke and the terrible ways in which she was debilitated by it. We spoke on many occasions while she was in the nursing home in Sumter and later, at the rehab facility in Columbia, which was so very difficult for her. I was so glad to think that she might have an opportunity to improve upon her return home, where she was able to be back in her own setting, close to family and friends who could visit more easily. I am especially grateful to the emotional and spiritual support shown her by not only Susie, but Dana, the nurse and minister who was so very sensitive to Connie's needs in these past few weeks and who helped Connie make the final transition.
Connie was far more than "Connie Grams" during her lifetime. While she loved her grandchildren and children, and enjoyed the nickname and affection bestowed upon her, she will always be "Auntie Mame" to me, as she was so much fun back in "the day". We shared many wonderful moments. Connie could be both irreverent and outrageous at times, but back then, she was always full of fun. She had a great sense of style and loved her jewelry. She was beautifully turned out but was always sensitive to the needs of others and was generous to a fault. She was there for me when I lost both my dad (Uncle Virgil) and my mother (Aunt Connie). We were the second generation of the "Adams girls", who were always up to some mischief. They were very close knit, and Connie was named for my mother, while I was named after Aunt Mary.
Connie was cherished by so many people, including my son and daughter-in-law, Taylor and Patty Henderson. When their daughter Hannah was born 3 1/2 weeks ago, Connie was thrilled to see the photos of their adorable little daughter. She thrilled to Taylor's accomplishments and was inordinately proud of him. She will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
No matter the distance, Connie and I were blessed to be able to stay in touch by phone. I will miss those conversations terribly, just as I will miss her terribly.
And so, Joan Constance Weatherly, I hope you were in fine form when you greeted St. Peter at those Pearly Gates. There is no question in my mind, that you gave him a big wink, as you crossed over into Heaven and sought out Uncle Howard, Aunt Mary, Donna, and my own mother and dad. I am glad that you are without pain and in peace.
Love you always,
Mary

Mom and I were so sorry to hear of Connie's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We remember the good times when she was over for parties at mom and dads house and most recently for the 50 Anniversary Party we had about 15 years ago. Connie was always fun loving and always had a story to tell. Now she is pain free with Our Lord. Prayers to you all for healing.

Mary Faith, Susie, and Jimmy - This is so sad. To me, Connie was the best sister-in-law and friend. She loved life in Sumter and was always fun to be with. We enjoyed her visits to Ottawa over the years and also being able to get together with cousins at various events - graduations, etc. She loved you all individually and as family and I'm sure she was really pleased that you were all close by once again. She also loved her dogs, amongst them being "Paris" and, before him, the Good Lord "Nelson". I'm sorry that I won't be able to be with you all on Monday but Sue and our son Brian will be there to help you through the day, and we'll continue to stay in touch with you. Love - Uncle Ken (Sue & Ken)
